  • Folktales for Fearless Girls: The Stories We Were Never Told by Myriam Sayalero

Basics of plot / dialogue / action / character development / conflict resolution will be covered. Participants will be guided through a variety of writing and arts workshops, where they are invited to:

  • Explore their reactions to the reading

  • Follow writing prompts designed to increase discoveries about how women and girls are portrayed in these stories / other stories

  • Tell a stories about gutsy women in their lives

The Gutsy Girls Club (GGBC) will meet via Zoom once per week for 8 weeks.

The 9th session will be a Live Zoom, where we will showcase our new work with invited friends/family.

At the end of eight weeks, participants may choose to share their work by reading a poem or story aloud or asking an actor or other participant to read it for them in our showcase performance. They are completely in control of their participation in the showcase.

At the start of each session, every participant will receive a GUTSY GIRL CLUB package including the selected book, a journal, and a pen.

Participants must have access to Zoom / the Internet or be able to dial into the session. Each participant will receive a unique GUTSY GIRL badge and sticker with their name on them upon completion of the series!
